I wonder if David's blood type, AB, is of any significance. AB+ is, of course, the "universal recipient," meaning it can take any blood type; perhaps we should be aware of what David is receptive of, and who his "donor" may be. Further, if he were AB-, this might throw into question his seeming perfection as a recipient.
I don't blame David for never donating blood. I haven't donated blood in years, because I hate needles and get really close to fainting. The fact that Pnuel thinks he lacks compassion for that is, frankly, rude.
In fact, I wish Pnuel hadn't interrupted David there. He's in a new place and is probably very confused, and his only contact is judgy and dismissive. Talk about failing the compassion matrix, yeesh.
